By helping my clients switch to whole foods and alleviate nutritional deficiencies my clients lose unwanted weight, improve digestion and intestinal health, lessen food cravings and food sensitivities, and relieve symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and mood swings.
I offer my clients Thorne Brand Supplements to alleviate deficiencies and to reverse the damage done by consuming a diet high in processed sugars, starches, and bad oils. Supplements need to be taken in the right dose, form, and frequency.
My interest is nutrition; the process of providing or obtaining the nutrients from food or supplements necessary for health and growth.
I have a long and satisfying career in cooking in a broad range of settings. I have worked in several hospitals and care facilities, both large and small. I have cooked in mess halls, a school, and I even had the opportunity to cook on a Marine Transport Vehicle. Cooking is something I enjoy and something that came to me as a gift, it just makes sense to me. I enjoy healthy Whole Foods and even in the moments when I cannot imagine cooking or eating, I do know mealtime will come. I thaw the meat, I clean the veggies, I might not have a plan, but I will have dinner.
I believed fat was bad, margarine was good, and that high carbohydrate diet was best. I ate low fat/bad fat. I used margarine and I ate a huge amount of cereal, rice, pasta, bread and dairy. I ate low fat/bad fat, Crisco, margarine, vegetable oils. I ate a lot of processed foods that were made with bad fats, sugar, high fructose corn syrup and starch. I thought the meat and fat were upsetting my stomach.
In 2012 I was living it. I was very overweight at 220 pounds, my moods were erratic, my digestion was awful, and I was tired and miserable, all the time. I had sore feet, constant brain fog, lack of motivation, and was depressed and anxious. I had sleep apnea and snored very badly. I was a smoker. And I was taking several pharmaceuticals. I was taking Tylenol 3 and Flexural for pain, Effexor for moods, and Ativan, when needed, for anxiety!
We switched! We started a Paleo Diet. All healthy Whole Foods! I went to a Low Carb Paleo Diet. I felt better fast, I lost weight-80# pretty fast too. I have kept 75 of those pounds off for 11 years! eating Low Carb, never hungry. Then my friend found the Canadian School for Natural Nutrition.
I graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2016. I continued taking courses until last summer. I have gained additional certification in Mental Health and Mood Disorders, Alzheimer’s and Age-Related Diseases, An Advanced Certificate Immunology and Detoxification, a course in Safe and Effective Supplementation and an Introduction to Herbs as well as a courses in Personal and Professional Development.
